I have always been a hands-on type of learner. All throughout school, I would always ask the teachers to come to my desks of I had a question. I don't know what it is, but I just learn better when I have visuals. So sometime, I don't always agree with all the tehnology that been brought into the classrooms. Don't get me wrong, if the teacher is able to bring in technology without losing his/her students, then more power to them. I just feel that we shouldn't let technology take over everything that is been brought into education over the years. Having said that, I will most like be using some of this technolog in my classroom, but I will make sure that I am still teaching, and working hands on with the students that need it.
WHAT KIND OF LEARNER ARE YOU?

Our dogs
Buster about 5 months old (Go Gators)

Buster and Mocha

Mocha

We have a chihuahua named Mocha(2 yrs), and a dauschund named buster(8 months). They both have their own personalities. Mocha is a talked, she will sit there and bounce her front half of her body and whine and bark, it is the cutest thing. While buster is a crazy dauschund!! He's so long and floppy, so he will just plop down anywhere. He loves to stand up on his back legs and then just fall forward. His mom breeds chihuahuas and that is where he got Mocha. And trust me, we have a house full of dogs. We have 4 more chihuahuas in the house. There is Piper (she's the momma and she's about 4 or 5 years old) There's Cody (he's the old man, hes 15 years old), and then there's Nip Nip (he's known as the stud, and he's 3 years old) and then there's Wee Man (he's a year) He got his name because he almost died, My mother in law had to bottle feed him and take care of him like a real baby, because he was the runt, he had a cleft palate and wasn't able to drink or eat properly. He is a tiny thing too!! All these dogs are like real people. Piper will scratch you if she wants to be loved, Cody will scratch the blankets and move around like crazy to make his bed, Wee-Man has the loudest bark of them all, and Nip Nip is a little skiddish, ( he was attacked). This house wouldn't be the same without any of these dogs, they are truely a riot.
Annoying sounds
Everybody has certain sounds that bother them. For some people it's scraping a fork against a plate (which don't get me wrong, bothers me too) , lifting a straw in and out of a fast food cup, when it scrapes against the plastic lid it makes this awful noise. And for some people, like my fiance, it's as simple as pulling a part a cotton ball next to his ear (apparently it goes right through him.)
Well for me, it's the sound that people make when they chew with their mouth open, when people chew gum like a cow and the sound that dogs make when they constantly like their paws...I don't know why they bother me, I think it's because all-in-all they sound alike.

Why do I want to be a teacher?
When I was a little girl, I wanted to be a brain surgeon. Yeah, I know, dream big right?! Shortly after I was able to realize in depth just what a being a brain surgeon entails. That's when I decided that I would like to still be a doctor, but maybe not a brain surgeon. All throughout high school, I was still deciding on exactly what type of doctor I wanted to be. My senior year, believe it or not, made an impact on my decision. For 3 years of high school I was taking Early Childhood Education. Well my senior year, I was enrolled in peer counseling. This is where you get assigned a certain grade and teacher at the primary school, and you go over there for a full class period and act as the teachers aide. Well, I just so happened to be assigned Pre-K and Kindergarten ESE classes. Which let me tell you now, was an awesome experience. After working with these kids of most of my senior year, I decided it would be cool to be a Pediatrician. That way I can be around kids, but also fulfill my dream of being a doctor. I enrolled on the classes I needed, but had a hard time getting through some of the classes, so I changed my major to nursing. Yet again, I had a hard time getting thorough the classes. That's when I realized that maybe working in the medical field is not for me. That's when I decided to become a teacher. I would like to be a pre-k and/or kindergarten teacher. I also enjoyed my time as a peer counselor with the ESE kids because my uncle in mentally handicapped and I feel I could relate to the children. So here I am fulfilling my dream of being a teacher! I am very excited and can't wait to start teaching!

so maybe the first one should have been this... :)
Ok, so now that I think about it, my first post should have been a little about me. So Im a little backwards...oh well..
Anyways, My name is Jessica Lynn Atz, I was born in East Meadow, New York on June 24, 1988. My parents divorced when I was 1 1/2, which put me in the position to visit my dad every summer and every other christmas in NY. Which don't get me wrong that was fun. I have one sibling. We have different dads, but same moms..of course. I'm 20 years old, and I'll be the big 21 in june. I am engaged to the most wonderful man in the world. we have been together for 5 years. We met on the school bus on January 25th 2004. We got engaged on April 8, 2007 (easter) and there is no date set for the wedding yet. We want to get further along with our eduation before anything. But for the time being we are having the time of our lives. I am going to school to be a Elementary teacher, preferably pre-k and kindergarten. I have changed my major 3 times...first I wanted to be a pediatrician, because I love kids, then I decided to be a nurse, and finally figured out that it wasnt the job for me. So here I am. My fiance is going to school to be a Pharmacist. We have 1 chihuahua (mocha), 1 daschund (buster), 1 chilean rose haired tarantula(phoenix), and a fish(link). I work at Blockbuster as a Customer Service Rep. I think thats it for now. :)
